玄空風水之運用重山上龍神不下水，水裏龍神不上山。此法則為整體佈局運用之最高法則。山主人丁，水主財祿，萬勿顛倒。而龍神所失所據，當影響整局之得失，至為關鍵。

所以山上排龍切忌下水，必須置於高山實地。
水裏排龍亦忌上山，亦須挨星於低窪、河流、池水之處。

• 例：

• 山上排龍：

  七運生旺之氣要放高處，即<七八九>主旺人丁，故坎、震、坤三方宜配高山實地。

• 山上排龍：

  六及四為衰及死之氣，如巽乾方高則為衰死之氣得力，故宜這兩方配有水則衰死之氣放水裏，得以脫煞。

• 水裏排龍：

  七運生旺之氣宜放水裏，即<七八九>主旺財祿，故乾及兌方宜配低窪河流。

  ---

  

• 水裏排龍：

  六為衰氣，五四為死氣，如艮離坎方低水則衰死之氣得力，故宜這三方配高山實地，得以脫煞。

   

  總之，兌乾兩方有水便一舉兩得，而震坤坎有山亦各得其哉，此謂收山出煞也。

To support the benevolent Stars and to suppress the malevolent Stars

The Mountain Star governs the auspiciousness in harmony and health of people, while the Facing or Water Star determines the auspiciousness in wealth enrichment. It is a fundamental principle that the timely Mountain Star needs the support of high land or mountain in the environment, and the timely Facing or Water Star needs the support of low land or water. This forms the basis for Feng Shui placement. When there is mismatching between the Stars and their environment, the auspicious nature of the benevolent Stars will not be expressed.

Based on the above principle, four general rules in Feng Shui arrangement have been derived.
 

1. The timely Mountain Stars have to be supported by high land or mountain.

For example, the Period 7 Yi sitting Xin facing geomantic chart is shown below.
 

The boom and breeding Stars in Period 7 are Star 7, Star 8 and Star 9. These Mountain Stars can generate harmony and health of people if they are supported by high land in the environment. Therefore it is desirable to have mountain present in the Kan, Zhen and Kun Palaces.

2. The timely Facing or Water Stars have to be supported by low land or water.

In the same geomantic chart setting, the timely Facing Stars in Period 7, Star 7, Star 8 and Star 9 can generate auspiciousness in wealth enrichment if they are supported by low land or water in the environment. Therefore, it is desirable to have water features or low land present in the Qian and Dui Palaces.

3. The untimely Mountain Stars need to have water or low land to suppress its inauspiciousness.

In the same geomantic chart setting in Period 7, Stars 4, 5 and 6 are retreating, failing and dead. Therefore it is desirable to have water features in the Qian and Sun Palaces to match with these untimely Mountain Stars 4 and 6 at these locations, so that their malevolent nature will not be expressed.

4. The untimely Facing or Water Stars need to have high land or mountain to suppress it inauspiciousness.


In the same geomantic chart, the untimely Facing Stars are at the Gen, Li and Kan Palaces. Therefore, it is desirable to have high land or mountain on these locations to suppress the inauspicious nature of these malevolent Stars.
